Osteopathy

WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

Osteopathy is a manual form of healing which emphasizes the relationship between structure and function of the body. Osteopathic principles believe in the body’s ability to heal itself. Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), also known as osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) are the core set of techniques that distinguish from “Osteopathic Physicians” and mainstream medicine. Osteopathic practitioners treat somatic dysfunction using manipulation of the patient’s bones and muscles.
The practice of Osteopathy includes, but is not limited to: Manual Therapy; Craniosacral Therapy; Myofascial Release; Muscle Energy Technique and Nutrition.

Best of all, this modality is covered under many insurance plans!

Tok Sen massage is a traditional Thai therapy using a wooden hammer and wedge to create rhythmic vibrations along the body’s energy lines. This technique relieves muscle tension, improves circulation, and alleviates pain, offering a unique and deeply relaxing experience.

Key Features:

  1. Tools: The primary tools used are a wooden hammer and a wooden stick or wedge. These tools are often made from tamarind wood, known for its durability.
  2. Technique: The practitioner gently taps the wooden stick along the body’s Sen lines. The rhythmic tapping creates vibrations that are believed to penetrate deep into muscles and fascia, releasing tension and improving energy flow.
  3. Benefits: Tok Sen massage aims to alleviate muscle stiffness, improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and enhance overall well-being. It is also thought to help with conditions like chronic pain, sciatica, and joint problems.
  4. Experience: The massage is performed while the client is fully clothed. The tapping sensation is unique, often described as a combination of deep tissue massage and acupuncture without needles. The rhythmic sound and vibration can be both relaxing and invigorating.
